Cicada Double Brood está chegando e já está movimentando em algumas regiões –
Have you heard the buzz of the double cicada brood yet in your area? The Great Southern Brood is already starting to emerge in southern areas of the US, while the Northern Illinois Brood is a bit slower, but still on its way.
According to NBC Chicago, cicada shells are beginning to be seen in Illinois, and that’s the first sign of the insects’ arrival. Ecologist Jennifer Rydzewski told the network that “the periodical cicadas will start emerging when the soil temperature eight inches below the ground gets to 64 degrees.”
Meanwhile, some South Carolina residents began calling their local sheriff’s office as early as April to ask why they can hear” sirens or a loud roar.” That noise, of course, is the male cicadas singing to attract mates.
