The men’s and women’s singles competitions are nearing the medal matches this weekend. The men’s quarterfinals and women’s semifinals are on tap for today. American favorite Coco Gauff has been knocked out of the Olympics, but Tommy Paul remains in the hunt for a medal for the US in the men’s singles. And four American men remain in the doubles competition. Before his singles match against Carlos Alcaraz today, Paul will play in the doubles quarterfinals with Taylor Fritz. Meanwhile, Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram knocked out Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal to advance to the semifinals of the men’s doubles.
