Now, let’s talk about the hardware. I’ve paired the SIGMA with some amazing components to create a true powerhouse of a NAS. I’ve got four Western Digital Red Pro 14TB hard drives, which are some of the largest and fastest HDDs available. And to top it all off, I’ve added an Intel Xe graphics card for hardware video transcoding! 💥

But what really sets this NAS apart is its incredible performance. With in-band ECC support, which is not supported on Raptor Lake CPUs yet, and Thunderbolt networking, this NAS can reach speeds of up to 18 gigabits per second! 🚀

That’s a lot of money, especially when you consider that you could build a similar NAS for much less using other components.

So, is the LattePanda SIGMA worth it? Well, that’s a tough question to answer. On one hand, this board packs an incredible amount of I/O power into a tiny package, and the performance is simply amazing. But on the other hand, the price tag is pretty steep, especially when you consider that you could build a similar NAS for much less using other components.

In my opinion, the LattePanda SIGMA is an incredible piece of hardware, but it’s just too expensive for most people. If you’ve got deep pockets and you’re looking for a high-end DIY NAS, then this might be the perfect board for you. But if you’re on a budget, there are plenty of other options available that offer similar performance at a fraction of the cost.
